next weekend we'll be moving in to our new house... yay! less than a week na lang! hopefully it doesn't rain. the weather this past week was cool but damp...as much as i like this weather, it's not what i want for next weekend.
-----
it's been almost a month since we gave our letter to the management office re: our last day at the apartment and still no word from them...as much as i hope they conveniently forgot about the early cancellation of the contract, i won't be surprised if they sic us with a collection letter once we've moved out.
-----
my brother in law has a friend who works at nickelodeon...he showed his friend a picture of clara and the friend asked if he could get a picture of her to put in his office. he said that clara looks like dora the explorer...it so happened that he is the producer of the show.
what do you think?

just found out my cousin is leaving for the army next week. my first reaction was why?!? what in the world is she thinking?!? but at the same time, i thought man, she's got guts... i don't know if i could do the same thing. the more i think about it, this may be good.. she's intelligent , physically active, young...this exciting career might be just right for her. from a distance, i admire all those who serve their country, who do put their lives on the line... i just never thought i would be directly connected to someone who would be a part of it.

itchy, scratchy
it started last tuesday with clara scratching the back of her neck... my mother-in-law thought it was because her hair... so she put some cream on it... yesterday it started creeping to the front of her neck. she put caladryl on it which eased the itching for a while but by the time i got home which was about 6:30 pm she looked like she had a really bad sunburn. it was all over her chest and splotches of red on her arms and legs. i bet it was itchy as hell. we called her doctor's answering service and got connected to the doctor on call. we said she had some type of allergy but doesn't have a fever or any swelling. she said give her children's benadryl and if it doesn't lessen in the morning, have the doctor see her. so we gave clara a bath and milk with benadryl mixed into it... unfortunately, it got worse through the night. she was awake every so often crying and scratching and tossing and turning... she was so miserable last night...
in the morning, i called the doctor's office and fortunately got her in in the morning...it turned out my baby's got the hives....in her case, an allergy from probably something in the air like pollen... it could last about 10 days and he said just to "ride it out"... 10 days!?!...ride it out!?! with a demanding baby like mine! i feel dread wash over me when i heard that... and i think the doctor said it with a grin... he said he wished he had a camera to take a picture of clara because the splotches looked like a "textbook case" of the hives... uh, ok thanks a lot....
hopefully, armed with calamine lotion, aveeno moisturizing bath packets and benadryl, we can make clara feel more comfortable as she "rides this out"...
one miserable itchy baby ..... ahh, soothing oatmeal bath
finally, exhausted sleep

midnight thoughts
i always thought better at night whether it was studying or just thinking about random stuff. it was always at night i had a clear mind to come up with ideas or just talk to myself. why is that?
i have a notebook beside my bed where i blindly scroll down my thoughts... whatever they may be. some see the light of day, others stay within the pages. i was thinking of buying those pens that light up when you write but i thought, nah, i might just get distracted by it. better na lang to write in the dark.
*baby lets out a short cry* my daughter is having another restless sleep tonight. she is not what you call a sound sleeper. she's too "active" a baby. you're lucky if you can get a two hour nap out of her during the day. at night, you have to tire her out before she goes to bed. which would be around 9:00-9:30. i know, i know, it's way too late for a baby to sleep but she's no ordinary baby...my mother-in-law can attest to that. my baby is a ball of energy. you can play with her for the longest time and ikaw ang susuko...no fail. malikot, makulit, madaldal, matakaw... all the things a toddler is...times 3. she can probably put a toddler boy to shame. my mother-in-law loves kids and has 5 of her own, 3 of them boys, and she said that "ngayon lang ako nakakita ng batang ganito sa buong buhay ko".
getting her ready to sleep requires strategy. first we start with dinner at around 6. she eats dinner when hubby and me get home. then one of us takes her out for a walk where she picks flowers and watches the neighborhood kids play. she eats again when my sister-in-law gets home. and may pahabol pa when my father-in-law comes in which is around 9. in between these mini-dinners she drinks a bottle of milk or water while running around the apartment. we give her a bath about an hour before bedtime para mahimbing ang tulog...yeah, right...in our dreams. we use everything to "soothe a baby"... a long warm bath with JOHNSON'S® BEDTIME BATH®, massage with JOHNSON'S® BEDTIME LOTION® and powder with JOHNSON'S® Baby Powder Lavender & Chamomile**...everything to ease her into bedtime mode... does it slow her down? nope. energizer bunny nga eh. my hubby and i have a description for her during times like this: She's sleepy but not ready to sleep. that sentence says it all. you know she's tired. you can see it in her eyes. she's extra-hyper which tells you she'll crash soon. so you take her in your arms and bring her to bed and if you're lucky, she'll pass out into blissfull sleep.
unfortunately, tonight isn't one of those nights by the way she's fussing now. i have a long night ahead of me.
'night everyone.

i'm getting addicted to these tests...
You're orange. You're strong and have the reflexes of a tiger. You're overly protective, and those skills come in handy... You're a natural person, with a taste for natural foods (I mean organic, here.). Well, that's not true. ...Just food in general! You're as quick-witted as your reflexes, and sometimes painfully logical. You love wild animals and pets. (Preferably wild animals!) You're a natural person, and a true child of Gaia. You're a stimulating, and outgoing person. You enjoy making people think, especially with your infectiously spontaneous attitude. You're a generally optomistic person, with a love for showing off all of your good traits. Although many people may see you as strung-out, or just plain weird, you're very down-to-earth and humble. You're incredibly sweet (as this color's other name!), and you care about people in general. As this color would describe, you're energetic beyond all human comprehension. You've got a nack for drawing, and you enjoy it, too. When it comes to school, you're a good listener with an even better memory. You're studious... At least when you need to be!

You are Form 0, Phoenix: The Eternal.
"And The Phoenix's cycle had reached zenith, so he consumed himself in fire. He emerged from his own ashes, to be forever immortal."
Some examples of the Phoenix Form are Quetzalcoatl (Aztec), Shiva (Indian), and Ra-Atum (Egyptian).
The Phoenix is associated with the concept of life, the number 0, and the element of fire.
His sign is the eclipsed sun.
As a member of Form 0, you are a determined individual. You tend to keep your sense of optomism, even through tough times and have a positive outlook on most situations. You have a way of looking at going through life as a journey that you can constantly learn from. Phoenixes are the best friends to have because they cheer people up easily.
